At Cook Street Nursing Care Centre (CNSCC) we pride ourselves in delivering quality care. We have a bit of magic at our home due to our small, intimate facility size. We get to know you and your loved ones on a personal level. Our goal is to provide genuine, person centered care for all of our residents. We are very proud to have just been awarded a four year certification. This recognised the atmosphere, environment and care model we provide.
About Us
Cook St Nursing Care Centre is a private, family-owned facility dedicated to providing high-quality aged care in a warm and supportive environment.
We have around 35 staff, with a very low turnover rate, meaning many of our team have been with us for years and know their roles well. They take great pride in the care they deliver and in the reputation of Cook St, working together to ensure residents receive consistent, compassionate support.
We provide care for up to 30 residents in a comfortable, homely setting. Our approach focuses on respecting each individual while supporting their wellbeing, dignity, and independence.
Centrally located in Palmerston North, we are easily accessible for families and visitors. Demand for our services is high, so we encourage you to ring or call in to discuss your specific requirements.
Our leadership
At Cook Street Nursing Care, our leadership is driven by compassion, experience, and a deep commitment to excellence in aged care.
Directors and owners Prem Prasad and Denny Yeldo bring over 14 years of combined experience in nursing and aged care services, guiding our organisation with integrity and professionalism.
As dedicated registered nurses, Prem and Denny are passionate about delivering person-centred care that respects each resident’s individuality while promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life.
Their extensive backgrounds span residential aged care, clinical leadership, and healthcare management, enabling them to maintain the highest standards of care, safety, and wellbeing across our facility.
At the heart of their leadership is a commitment to fostering a warm, supportive, and culturally inclusive environment where residents feel at home, families feel confident, and staff feel valued.
Through a hands-on approach and continuous focus on improvement, Prem and Denny ensure that Cook Street Nursing Care remains a trusted provider of compassionate, high-quality aged care.

I initially took up nursing to take better care of my grandfather. Unfortunately he passed away on my second year of study. I persevered and earned my Bachelor’s degree back in 2011 in the Philippines. I then received my registration on the same year and did about a year and a half of volunteer work as a medical-surgical nurse at one of the local hospitals. Later on I was accepted to a tertiary hospital and worked in the Emergency Department for a couple of years. I proceeded to take up the Competency Assessment Programme for Overseas Registered Nurses late 2016 in UCOL and received my registration here in New Zealand. Wanting to return to my initial calling for Aged Care, I applied to Cook Street Nursing Care Centre and have been working here since. I remain passionate in caring for the elderly and have made great friendships with them. I look forward to continuing my work in trying to improve their quality of life, even just by a little.

I am dedicated to creating a home where every resident and whānau feels valued, understood, and supported through compassionate, person-centred nursing.
I hold a postgraduate certificate in nursing and have thirteen years of experience in elderly care, complemented by the Advanced Care Palliative Pilot Program conducted by Arohanui Hospice. I bring my clinical knowledge and my heart to Cook Street Nursing Care Centre where we value and honour the unique qualities of every elderly resident.
